• Experts Discuss Opportunities in Saudi Renewal Energy Sector

    Local and international experts discussed challenges and opportunities in the renewable energy sector in Saudi Arabia in a seminar at Asharqia Chamber today. They also focused on benefits of energy efficiency not only in the form of saving costs but also in  protecting the environment.
    The seminar entitled "Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Knowledge Forum"  is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The Forum has been aimed at exploring business opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
    In the opening session, Mr. Kumar Ramesh from the Frost & Sullivan focused on global insights on energy efficiency solutions. Also participated in the today's sessions were Dr. Naif Al Abbady of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center, Eng, Abdulhamid Al Noaim of the Saudi Electricity Company and Mr. Adam Procell of Lime Energy.
    Mr. Stuart Russel of Honeywell presented a paper on financial implications of energy efficiency measures. Mr. Mike Delton of Musanadah and Eng Ali Al Najim discussed the importance of adopting energy efficiency solutions for the sake of  environment.
    Dr. Tawfiq Alrabia, Minister of Commerce and Industry, is expected to attend the tomorrow's sessions. A number of industry leaders and experts will identify possible challenges in the development of renewable energy in the Kingdom and discuss their solutions tomorrow.
